If someone removes their sign post on their lawn but it is still listed on Zillow for sale, is it still for sale?

Why would they remove their sign post?

Zillow is usually slow to update. Probably not, give Zillow a week and it'll probably come off but it could still be available (they just didn't like the sign or wanted a new realtor or who knows what).

Zillow cannot be believed. If they removed the sign from the yard, the house was sold or they have rethought their decision.

Maybe they got an offer.

I would ask the owners, perhaps some kids took the sign away.

A "for sale" sign has nothing to do with anything. Maybe they didn't want their neighbours to know they were moving.

Perhaps the wind took it down? Perhaps kids removed it. Most times a for sale sign would be removed by the new owners, after they have moved in. Unless the Agents are on the ball and take it away as soon as Contracts have been exchanged.

Not knowing what Zillow is btw.

Zillow is notoriously inaccurate. It still being on Zillow does not necessarily mean it is still for sale. You would have to check with the realtor that was selling it.

There are many reasons the sign is down.

zillow isn't always exactly up to date.

You would need to contract the sellers agent to find out.... property websites have lots of property on still that have long been sold

Zillow is not some all-knowing God of a website. Zillow is often days, weeks or months out of date.

possibly, but zillow is not the most accurate.. check on realtor.com. if its for sale by owner, its harder to tell.

why? maybe they don't want neighbors know they are selling. maybe they are having landscapers come to do major work. maybe it was stolen

Maybe, maybe not. Probably not.

A couple of things could be a result of a sign post being removed.

Someone could have driven over it and damaged it. They are waiting for a replacement sign.

The house may have had an accepted offer and they are waiting for a closing date.

The house is off the market, but the Zillow.com listing was not removed.

I have found that the Zillow.com web site is not always accurate. I sold a house and because there were two owners, Zillow listed the sale price as if it was sold twice in one day. Rather than adding the total sale price together and listing it, it was listed as sold at two different prices in one day.
