Cowboy.......bandana around your neck, spurs on your boots, big hat........

Hippie......headband around your head..........bell bottom pants.....beads, or peace sign necklace or t-shirt.......maybe some horrendous furry vest.

You're not being at all clear. Those words don't "portray" anything. They're all just nouns. A noun is a person, place, or thing.

If you are referring to dressing up in a costume as a cowboy, hippie or whatever, that's known as dressing up for Halloween (if done in late October) or cosplay (for "costume play") at other times of the year.
