My laptop has a hard drive error, and I ve tried everything I can think of to fix it. Should I give up and reset?

If your laptop has built in diagnostic software, I'd say run that to determine the extent of hard drive failure. I'd also recommend backing up your desired data to an external hard drive before the failures get worse!

You can also bring your device to any Geek Squad Precinct at your local Best Buy and we can help determine if the hard drive is needing replaced for you and give you guidance on next steps and possible repair. If you have all the data backed up elsewhere, reinstall the OS. do a LONG format. That will fix sector problems. If error persist, replace hard drive and do that reinstall again.

It depends on the error. Can you be more specific?

REINSTALL don't waste your time with that RESET BS in 10. Doesn't usually fix problems and doesn't "reset" everything like they claim. An OS "reset" is not a working solution 95% of the time.

That depends on what the hard drive error is. It could be a simple fix. I'd suggest searching for a repair online by describing the error you're seeing. You'll likely get lots of YouTube videos that have the instructions you need.
