Rubber ring for thermos bottle?

8 answers · 1 week ago
Hello, I have a question about a thermos flask. When you disassemble the plastic jug , you can take out the glass bottle. On top of this glass bottle is a rubber ring to seal the bottle off inside the jug. My rubber ring starts to tear into pieces. Does someone know where I could buy such rubber rings? Many thanks!

Try the website of the company that made your thermos, if there is a brand name on it. If they don't sell them from the website, they may have a list of stores which stock the rings. If there is no brand name, try googling 'thermos rubber ring replacement'.

If it is Thermos - they have a spares online service provided but don't do seals. Try Amazon.

Why not just buy a good quality stainless steel thermos that will last a lifetime?

The ring IS NOT available separately. Even if it were, you DESTROYED the vacuum when you dismantled the bottle. BORROWING the equipment needed to restore the vacuum would cost more than replacing the entire unit.

please measure it as best you can and then check online. i'd google first and then Ace Hardware. {My local Ace has large O-rings used in coupling for irrigation piping -- can get same at local irrigation supply place, but these are mostly located in farming areas which may be far from you.}

Measure the ring. Get a replacement O-ring from your local hardware store.

Thermos still makes every rubber ring for every bottle they have ever made from day one. Look on the company's web site.

Two of my relatives worked at the Thermos plant for four decades, therefore I have many thermos products, some of which are quite old. If you do a google search "Thermos replacement parts" you will hit upon resources to find and replace the part you need.
